Now that you own your own beautiful Catwood board, we’re here to help make sure it gets the care it needs to become a family heirloom! Here are some pro tips to keep your board in tip top shape:

1. Try to avoid soaking the board in water. You’re free to scrub it with hot soapy water after use, but soaking it in water will eventually lead it to warping and cracking.
2. No Dishwasher. I know, it’s a tough one… I’ve been known to go out of my way to buy things that are dishwasher safe, but alas the best things need to be hand washed!
3. Treat regularly with Mineral Oil or Butcher Block Conditioner. You can find these readily at Home Depot, and many other places I’m sure. Just make sure you find one that’s FDA approved.
4. Through water and wear, the board will inevitably show signs of aging. A quick light sand with 220+ grit sandpaper will give you a smooth finish and a fresh look all over again.
